This means that the carbon chains that make up diesel fuel are made up of carbon chains of greater than 15. This gives diesel more overall power.

The high power that is obtained from using diesel fuel also allows for better MPG. Lastly but certainly not least, is the fact that because the power from diesel is so high diesel engines are usually built extremely tough. They are built to withstand a great deal of pressure, and thus are very tough. They usually last many more miles than a standard gasoline engine.
